Brief: |
On 15 February 1639, five men from New Haven purchased a tract from the Paugassett Indians that covered nearly all the later towns of Orange, Milford and part of Woodbridge. In May 1822, two Parishes, the Society of North Milford and the West Farmers in New Haven, were united to form the town of Orange, named for William, Prince of Orange. Town vital records begin 1921. Barbour collection records cover 1822-1850. |
