History
Brief:
In 1718, the General Assembly authorized that a Plantation or new town be laid out east of Enfield and sold to provide money for the building of a State House in Hartford. The town of Stafford was settled in 1719 led by John Pasco of Enfield, Josiah Standish of Preston and Benjamin Rockwell of Windsor. Town vital records begin 1719.
