Henry Cook, the first settler, came here in 1728. This land was in a section of northern Waterbury which in 1739 became the Norbury Parish. This was set off from Waterbury in 1795 as the town of Plymouth. Seth Thomas established his world famous clock factory in the Plymouth Hollow section of Plymouth in 1812 and it became known locally as Thomas Town. It was set off from Plymouth and officially incorporated as the town of Thomaston in 1875. Town vital records begin 1875 |
