History
Brief: |
In 1700, the Court made a grant to those who had volunteered for the war with the Narragansetts. In May 1708 the settlement was called the Plantation of Voluntown. It became the town of Voluntown in 1721. Town vital records begin 1708. Barbour collection records cover 1708-1850. |
