Classes of Membership
The Connecticut Society of Genealogists welcomes participation
by all those who share our sincere interest in the importance of preserving
family history. As specified for in our bylaws,
the classes of membership are as follows:
Associate Membership shall be open to all who are interested in genealogy and in the Society's objectives and who expect to have limited participation in Society activities and operations. Associate Members shall not be issued a card, shall not receive hard copy mailings of Society publications and shall not have the right to vote or hold office.
Sustaining Membership shall be open to all who are interested in genealogy and in the Society's objectives and who subscribe to the Society's Code of Ethics. Sustaining Members shall have the right to vote and to hold office.
Life Membership shall be available to members at a cost of twenty (20) times the dues of a Sustaining member for that fiscal year. The revenue thus generated shall be maintained in a separate Life Member Trust Fund and shall be administered in accordance with Article VI, Section 4 of these Bylaws. Life Members shall have the right to vote and to hold office.
Subscription Memberships shall be available to institutions. A Subscription Membership will entitle an institution to receive copies of the Nutmegger but not copies of the membership lists and Newsletters.
Honorary Life Membership may be awarded by the Board in recognition of substantial or outstanding contributions which advance the purpose and goals of the Society. Honorary Life Members shall not pay dues and shall not have the right to vote or hold office.

Members in violation of the Society's Code of Ethics shall be terminated from membership by majority vote of the Board of Governors; membership cards, in such cases, are expected to be returned to the Society and voided.
